    What is the criteria for assigning the Source and sweep subdivisions? The Video unclearly states this under "chord-wize refinement ".

      The source and sweep subdivisions are set in such a way to capture the pressure changes across the wing surface. The chord-wise direction (i.e. downstream) refinement is more dense so that each grid can represent the change in pressure across a small surface. Surface pressure changes a lot on the wing leading and trailing edges which means you need more grids (i.e. more source subdivisions). At the middle top surface of the wing, the spanwise pressure from root to tip does not change very much and that needs less sweep subdivisions to represent small changes in surface pressure.

      Acceptable mesh is a case-by-case situation, dependent on your model. A useful rule of thumb is to set the mesh density enough to reflect the geometry shape and not over-mesh like traditional CFD approach. CFD-type very fine mesh only slows down FlightStream without contributing to results accuracy.

    I guess the foam around must be perfectly balanced to not cause any additional rotation due to asymmetric weight. Requires some skillful cutting. Haha

      The foam is cut on the cnc, so we can get pretty precise in the features.

    I have a complete set of his design series books and a couple of others. Most are from a set owned by my previous boss, given to me when he retired, who couldn't help noticing how I pored over Roskam's books. I also attended many of his free online aviation history courses given through Kansas University for years.

    Is building a model in advanced aircraft analysis surface 2.8 as easy as in OpenVSP? It looks like AAA surface 2.8 is an analysis software not a modelling software. Can an user import 3D model files from other 3D modeling software?

      Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) is a far more advanced software with 4.0 as its current version. Older versions like AAA 2.8 would pale in comparison with AAA 4.0 features. AAA is a comprehensive aircraft design program that gives users full authority over the entire preliminary design process. 3D models can be imported by not directly.       @@chrslefty they make abs headliners for cars like 70's Camaro and Firebirds, others I'm sure too. That will be plenty big enough but it will probably be a bit expensive due to paying for the process of it being made to a certain shape. I'm sure I've seen plain large sheets on eBay
